End of Voting Among Polish Diaspora in the United States – 43,000 People Cast Their Ballots

Voting among the Polish community in the United States has concluded. Ballots for the presidential candidates of Poland could be cast in 57 districts across the U.S., with over 43,000 people registered to participate.

The voting for the Polish diaspora in the U.S. lasted from 1 PM Polish time on Saturday until 6 AM on Sunday when the last polling stations closed on the West Coast—in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. In total, elections were held in 57 districts (five more than last time), but the first round saw 43,000 voters, 5,000 fewer than in the 2023 elections.

Voters included tourists in the U.S. capital, new immigrants, and long-term residents—around 1,000 people in total.

This year, approximately 1,000 people registered to vote in Washington, D.C., 400 fewer than in the autumn 2023 elections. According to Polish Consul Mikołaj Rychlik, voting in all districts under his jurisdiction (which also includes North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee) proceeded smoothly without disruptions.

As usual, the highest voter turnout in the U.S. was recorded in the Chicago and New York metropolitan areas—around 15,000 each. On the West Coast, the largest number of votes were cast in San Francisco—over 1,000.

The results will be announced only after voting concludes in Poland.
