“War in Ukraine? Uncertainty in the Middle East? Thanks to our numerous actions, Poland is energy secure,” wrote former Orlen CEO Daniel Obajtek. He pointed to supply diversification, infrastructure development, and investments in nuclear energy. Jarosław Kaczyński, in turn, emphasized that “energy sovereignty is fundamentally important,” and that Poles have been “freed from dependence on Russian raw materials.”
The former CEO of Orlen and current Member of the European Parliament, Daniel Obajtek, addressed the international situation on social media.

he wrote.
He indicated that during the Law and Justice (PiS) government, oil and gas supplies were diversified, citing agreements with Saudi Aramco, BP, Equinor, Sempra Infrastructure, and Exxon, and that Poland had “completely cut itself off from Russian hydrocarbons.”
He also highlighted the strengthening of domestic production and output in Norway, the development of infrastructure, including the Baltic Pipe, the LNG terminal, Naftoport, oil and gas pipelines, interconnectors, and the acquisition of an LNG carrier fleet, as well as the initiation and advancement of investment processes in offshore projects and both large-scale and small-scale nuclear power projects (PEJ and SMR). “It was the consistent policy of PiS that guaranteed our security today,” he added.

PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński responded to the post.
“In times of great geopolitical uncertainty, rapid changes, and armed conflicts, energy sovereignty is fundamentally important! Thanks to the decisions of the PiS government, Poles have been secured and freed from dependence on Russian raw materials. A decisive role was played here by the efficiency, drive, and courage of CEO Daniel Obajtek and the ORLEN management board under his leadership,”
he wrote.
