Escaped Royal Python Found After Stalowa Wola Incident

A royal python in Stalowa Wola triggered a city-wide search after being thrown from an apartment window.

A royal python, thrown from a third-floor apartment window in Stalowa Wola, sparked a city-wide search involving emergency services and the Crisis Management Center. The snake landed on a ground-floor windowsill before slithering into another apartment, leading to a resident discovering and subsequently throwing it out of the window in fright.

Authorities, including the police and fire department, were on high alert after the python went missing. Local residents were asked to report any sightings. Fortunately, the snake was found the next evening in a dark tunnel within the same building. It is now in police custody and will soon be examined by a veterinarian.

Royal pythons are among the smallest of their kind, reaching up to 180 cm in length. Although non-venomous, their presence can still cause alarm, as evidenced by this unusual event in Stalowa Wola.
