Although Roman Giertych and some politicians from the ruling coalition are promoting a narrative of widespread fraud in the 2025 presidential elections, even the liberal Batory Foundation unequivocally states in its latest report: there are no grounds to contest the outcome of the election.
Irregularities Do Not Affect the Result
In the published report titled “Fraud or False Alarms? Statistical Oversight of the Second Round of the 2025 Presidential Election” by the Stefan Batory Foundation, concerning the recent presidential elections, it is noted that although some “experts” raised concerns about the vote counting process, the conclusion is as follows:
“Not all of them met scientific standards, and some of the analyses conducted actually indicate violations of such standards,” the report reads.
It also adds:
“However, there is no need to accept them as credible merely because they were motivated by good intentions,” the report states.
One of the most high-profile cases questioning the integrity of the election was the so-called “analysis” conducted by Dr. Eng. Krzysztof Kontek. The statistician, using methods such as Benford’s Law, claimed that anomalies in vote counting may have occurred in over 3,000 polling stations. According to findings by TV Republika, Dr. Kontek was an active participant in the Committee for the Defence of Democracy (KOD) and publicly sympathised with Donald Tusk’s political camp.
On social media, he followed pages such as “I Don’t Like PiS,” “I Don’t Watch TVPiS,” and “PiS Off.” Although he does not formally belong to any political party, his social media profiles and media activity clearly indicate political engagement, which undermines the independence of his scientific assessments regarding the election.
In the conclusion of the Foundation’s report, it is clearly stated:
“There were discrepancies in the officially reported results of the second round of this year’s presidential election. This is not a new phenomenon—neither in nature nor in scale,” the analysts note.
However, the most crucial sentence is:
“Neither the scale nor the direction of these discrepancies provides grounds to challenge the decision that resulted from the election,”
the report reads.
In light of this report from a foundation known for its liberal and left-leaning views, Roman Giertych’s claims about the possibility of halting the swearing-in of President-elect Karol Nawrocki increasingly enter the realm of fantasy.
