    Excellent musicians honoured by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage

    The Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Professor Piotr Gliński, honoured Marietta Kruzel-Sosnowska with the Gold Medal ‘Gloria Artis for Merit to Polish Culture’ in recognition of her artistic achievements and involvement in the development and dissemination of Polish culture. Wojciech Świętoński and Kamil Zawadzki were awarded the badge of honour ‘Merit to Polish Culture’. The awards were presented on Sunday by the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Wanda Zwinogrodzka during a concert at the Warsaw Archcathedral.


    Marietta Kruzel-Sosnowska
    Organist, pedagogue, and music theoretician. Graduate of the Academy of Music in Warsaw in Prof. Feliks Rączkowski’s organ class (diploma with distinction) and music theory in Prof. Andrzej Dobrowolski’s class (diploma with distinction). She has long been a lecturer in the organ class at this Academy. She was also a lecturer in the organ class at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University.

    She has conducted concerts for children and young people at the National Philharmonic Chamber Stage. She has recorded CDs on many historical organs (among others in Bielsko-Biała, Czerwińsk, Legnica, Leżajsk, Ostrzeszów). Two albums with her participation were nominated for the Fryderyk Music Award: Marian Sawa – Organ Music II (2001 nomination in the Solo Music Album of the Year category) and Marian Sawa – Complete Violin Music (2017 nomination in the Best Polish Album Abroad category). Co-founder and president (2006-2018) of the Marian Sawa Society. Awarded with the Distinguished Cultural Service Medal and the Silver Medal for ‘Meritorious Service to Culture Gloria Artis’.


    Wojciech Łukasz Świętoński
    Pedagogue pianist, accompanist, and organiser of musical life. He graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw in the piano class of Professor Bronisława Kawalla. At the same time, he studied piano chamber music with Prof. Jerzy Marchwiński and Prof. Maciej Paderewski. Laureate of 3rd prize at the 19th ROMA International Piano Competition 2009. He participated in master courses conducted by, among others, Viera Nossina, Eleonora Tkach, Oleg Kriemer, Bernard Ringeissen, Mischiko Ohno, Katarzyna Popowa- Zydroń. He is a member of the Association of Polish Artist Musicians (SPAM) and a scholarship holder of the Lions Club NIKE Poland.

    He has performed with, among others, the Polish Radio Orchestra, the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, and the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Doctor of Musical Sciences (2019). Associate of the UMFC (Department of Choral Conducting, Music Education and Rhythmics). The album with his participation “Paweł Łukaszewski – Musica Profana II” (DUX) received a nomination for the 2019 Fryderyk Music Award in the contemporary music album of the year category. Vice-president of the Warsaw branch of the Association of Polish Artist Musicians.


    Kamil Zawadzki
    Violinist, Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in the field of music in the discipline of instrumental music. Graduate of the Academy of Music in Łódź in the class of Professor Iwona Wojciechowska (diploma with distinction). He is a laureate of the 2nd and 3rd National Competition for the Best Recital in Żagań (2010, 2011), the International Violin Competition in Sion, Switzerland (2009), and a scholarship holder of the “Young Poland” Programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2009). He also won, among others, the 2nd prize in the Solo Sonatas Competition (2008), the 4th prize and a distinction in the International Baltic Violin Competition (2006), the 2nd prize and the prize for the greatest artistic individuality in the National Irena Dubiska Violin Competition in Łódź (2003), the 1st prize and a special prize in the National Competition for Young Instrumentalists in Bydgoszcz (2003).

    From 2010 to 2018 he was an assistant at the G. and K. Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź. Bacewicz in Łódź. He has given concerts in Germany, Switzerland, and France. He has also performed in China. He is a lecturer at the International Music Courses in Żagań, the Summer Music Academy in Łódź, and the Youth Music Academy in Łódź. Since 2017, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Polish Musicians in Warsaw.
