“I do not have, and have never had, any millions in my account. The funds from recent years were spent on fighting cancer, surgeries abroad, and treating complications. Only thanks to that am I still alive,” wrote Zbigniew Ziobro in yet another post today, responding to attacks from both politicians of the December 13 coalition and their supporters.
As a reminder, on November 12 the prosecutor decided to secure the assets of Zbigniew Ziobro, the former minister of justice, who in recent weeks has become the “number one target” of Donald Tusk’s team.
The asset seizure includes both imposing a compulsory mortgage on his properties and freezing the funds in his bank account.
“The purpose of the asset security measure is to ensure the enforceability of future court rulings of a financial nature — such as fines, compensation orders, forfeiture, or repayment of unlawful gains — by preventing the suspect from disposing of, encumbering, or hiding his assets,” explained the spokesperson of the National Prosecutor’s Office, Prosecutor Przemysław Nowak.
The Law and Justice politician reacted calmly to this information.
“The seizure of my assets is yet another act of revenge for investigations exposing massive corruption by Tusk’s people — Nowak, Giertych, Grodzki, Gawłowski, Karpiński — as well as cases concerning Tusk himself. These proceedings are being swept under the rug,”
he wrote on x.com on November 20.
Łącki’s Provocation
Artur Łącki, one of the wealthiest MPs of the Civic Coalition, today posted on social media a photo of Zbigniew Ziobro with his eyes covered. The post also included the claim that “146,000,000 zł has been secured in Zbigniew Z.’s bank account.”
Interestingly, he later edited the caption, changing it to say that a security measure “up to the amount of 146,000,000 zł” had been imposed.
Ziobro himself responded to Łącki’s post, writing:
“A rich man from Tusk’s camp brazenly lies that I have a ‘gigantic fortune’ in my account. He uploads a fake online and then quietly edits the entry. He has known from the outset that the prosecutor’s office imposed only a formal security measure ‘up to the indicated amount,’ and that my account holds only a small sum.”
“This is exactly their method: shamelessly draining Poles’ wallets for the benefit of their own. And one thing is certain: we will hold Tusk’s team accountable for all their thefts,” Ziobro added.
“I do not have and have never had any millions”
In the evening, the PiS politician posted yet another comment, pointing out that haters had swallowed the bait and were now spreading the information the MP had originally posted.
“The smear machine from Giertych’s stable has started up, lying that prosecutors allegedly secured 146 million in my account. Paid trolls and #13DecemberCoalition politicians, sick with hatred, are spreading it. I do not have and have never had any millions in my account. The funds from recent years were spent on fighting cancer, surgeries abroad, and treating complications. Only thanks to that am I still alive,”
Ziobro wrote.
He added:
“Lies are Tusk’s DNA — he has turned slander and manipulation into a tool of systemic repression. He wanted to lock me up so that I wouldn’t be able to defend myself against such smear campaigns. Now I can defend myself, because I am free. And that is exactly why it hurts them so much.”
