Feliks Szajnert, a renowned actor of the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Krakow, passed away at 79. The theatre, where Szajnert performed for nearly fifty years, shared the sad news on Saturday.

The Juliusz Słowacki Theatre lauded Szajnert’s vitality, creativity, and humor, which made him seem immortal to his colleagues. “Today, as Felek-Guślarz said in ‘Dziady’ – it’s dark and silent everywhere,” the theatre’s statement poignantly noted.

Szajnert also appeared on television in shows like “Świat według Kiepskich” and “Kryminalni,” with his last notable role being an archbishop in the biographical film “Johnny” (2022).

For his artistic achievements, Szajnert was honored with the Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis.
