For the past two weeks, an unprecedented campaign targeting TV Republika and its journalists has been underway. After a series of false reports, another provocation took place involving the family home of President Karol Nawrocki. Following a false report, services subordinate to Prime Minister Donald Tusk forcibly entered the home, only to discover that no one was inside and nobody was in danger. “This is a scandal that disgraces state institutions in the eyes of citizens,” opposition politicians commented.
Last night, emergency services received a report about a fire at the family home of President Karol Nawrocki. According to findings by the portal, the intervention at the apartment lasted several minutes. The apartment was empty. As Brigadier Jacek Jakóbczyk from the Gdańsk fire service told Niezalezna.pl, the services attempted to call back the number from which the report had been sent, but nobody answered. Nevertheless, due to a possible threat to life, a decision was made to intervene immediately.
The actions of services subordinate to Donald Tusk, Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński, and Interior Ministry coordinator Tomasz Siemoniak were criticized by opposition politicians.
“You broke into the family apartment of the President. You had practically announced that you would do this, trivializing and mocking the operations against Republika. Now you are desperately trying to save the situation,” PiS MP Sebastian Kaleta wrote on X.
“It should begin with the dismissal of Siemoniak and Kierwiński,” he added.
The matter was also addressed by the PiS candidate for prime minister, Przemysław Czarnek.
“This was supposed to be a calm Sunday morning, but it is not. Last night, services entered the family apartment of President Karol Nawrocki in Gdańsk. Allegedly because there was once again some kind of fire alarm. But this is another provocation over the course of two weeks, following major provocations against Republika journalists. Tusk is playing dumb. He convenes a government meeting on the matter to counter provocations. In fact, the only positive thing you can do at this meeting is tell Kierwiński that this is his last meeting as part of the government. Dismiss him immediately!” Czarnek said in a video published on X.
“The entry of the services into the family home of the President of Poland is the crossing of yet another red line. This is a scandal that disgraces state institutions in the eyes of citizens. If today the President of Poland and his family can be targeted without any restraint, then tomorrow any one of us may become the target of the same machinery,” wrote former Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak.
“Donald Tusk has lost the moral right to govern the state. His rule increasingly resembles a brutal fight against political opponents rather than the democratic standards of a European state,” he stressed.
