More recordings from the opening of Michał Kołodziejczak’s parliamentary office in Gniezno are appearing online. The lavishly organized event was attended not only by supporters of the Civic Coalition politician but also by individuals who oppose his political activity. It quickly became clear that not everyone was welcome at a place which, in theory, should serve as a venue for meetings between an MP and citizens.
A speech, refreshments, and even a red carpet — Michał Kołodziejczak ceremoniously opened his “parliamentary office” in Gniezno on Saturday. However, the opening was attended not only by supporters and associates of the politician, but also by critics of his actions. Among them were representatives of Młodzież Wszechpolska (All-Polish Youth), who attempted to present the MP with a symbolic handful of silver coins — which, in their view, represented the price for which he had “sold out” the Polish countryside — and they also displayed a themed banner.
“Młodzież Wszechpolska in Gniezno showed Michał Kołodziejczak what we think of him. He is a man who, for a handful of silver coins, sold out the interests of the Polish countryside and farmers to Tusk. He entered politics on the backs of Polish farmers and then betrayed them!” activists later declared on social media.
This was not the only post to appear online after the event. A video began circulating on the platform X showing how Kołodziejczak reacted to individuals who did not support him. Instead of engaging in dialogue with the protesters, he turned to his associates and ordered their removal. “Gentlemen, deal with them,” he instructed.
“Farmers do not need red carpets and flashing cameras to talk about their problems. It’s time for work, not for pretending to be a star,” commented Artur Kosicki, a councillor of the Podlaskie Regional Assembly.
There have been many more critical comments directed at the Civic Coalition MP.
