As reported today by the Financial Times, citing sources, Germany is resuming its efforts to purchase Tomahawk cruise missiles from the United States.
Boris Pistorius Plans Trip to Washington…
According to the Financial Times, Germany’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius is planning a trip to Washington to revive Berlin’s proposal to acquire long-range systems, first submitted in July 2025.
The visit depends on whether Pistorius manages to arrange a meeting with the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, sources who wished to remain anonymous told the newspaper.

As reported by Reuters, the Pentagon and Germany’s Ministry of Defense have not yet responded to requests for comment.
The Tomahawk Land Attack Missile is a long-range cruise missile typically launched from the sea toward land-based targets. In February this year, the Pentagon announced the signing of a seven-year contract with Raytheon to increase missile production, as stockpiles had been depleted due to the war with Iran.
