We encourage you to watch the excellent TV Republika spot from the inauguration day – a ceremony already remembered as one of the most symbolic and content-rich presidential inaugurations in Poland’s recent history.
Karol Nawrocki is now President of Poland!
An Inauguration with a Royal Consecration Feel
On 6 August 2025, Karol Nawrocki took the oath of office before the National Assembly, ending with the words “So help me God.” On the eve of the ceremony, he and his wife attended Holy Mass at St. John’s Archcathedral, where Metropolitan Archbishop Adrian Galbas delivered the homily. The event’s atmosphere – the solemn performance of Bogurodzica, numerous references to God and Christian values – gave it an almost sacred dimension, reminiscent of a traditional “royal consecration.”
Nawrocki referenced the words of Józef Piłsudski, Roman Dmowski:
“We are Poles and we have Polish duties”
and Lech Kaczyński:
“It’s worth being Polish”
Pledge for a New Constitution
In his inaugural address, the president announced the creation of the Council for the Repair of the State System and the start of a nationwide debate on a new constitution. The document – planned to be completed by 2030 – is intended to clearly define the rules of cooperation between state institutions, while strengthening Poland’s sovereignty and citizens’ rights.
