MEP and leader of the Confederation of the Polish Crown, Grzegorz Braun, was questioned at the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office.
“Today, procedural actions were carried out at the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw with the suspect Grzegorz Braun. The suspect did not admit to the alleged offenses, questioned the legitimacy of the charges, provided extensive explanations, and answered questions,” the Warsaw prosecution office stated in a press release on Thursday.
The charges against Grzegorz Braun include, among others:
- Assaulting a public official, Łukasz Szumowski, who serves as Director of the National Institute of Cardiology.
- Damaging a Christmas tree and destroying its decorations inside the building of the Kraków District Court.
- Publicly insulting a group of people based on their religious affiliation, maliciously disrupting a public religious ceremony involving the lighting of candles on a Hanukkah menorah, and publicly desecrating a religious object by extinguishing the lit candles on the menorah using a fire extinguisher.
