    High Winds Sweep Across Poland: Thousands of Incidents Reported

    Strong winds disrupt Poland: 2,000 incidents, injuries reported, and nationwide weather warnings issued.

    Since midnight, firefighters in Poland have responded to nearly 2,000 incidents caused by strong winds, according to State Fire Service spokesman Senior Brigadier Karol Kierzkowski. The hardest-hit regions include Pomeranian Voivodeship (471 cases), Warmian-Masurian (458), Masovian (312), and Podlaskie (242). Crews are busy clearing fallen trees and branches from roads, sidewalks, and vehicles. One woman was injured in Kobylin (Warmian-Masurian) after a tree struck her car.

    Nationwide Weather Warnings
    The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) has issued second-level wind warnings for parts of Podlaskie, Warmian-Masurian, Pomeranian, and Zachodniopomorskie. Wind speeds are expected to reach up to 100 km/h in gusts. First-level warnings cover most of Poland, excluding Lubuskie Voivodeship, with winds reaching 85 km/h.

    Precautions Advised
    Residents are urged to remain cautious as high winds can cause sudden hazards. Authorities advise securing loose objects, avoiding wooded areas, and limiting unnecessary travel. Firefighters continue their efforts to ensure public safety and minimize damage.
