His data was used in the attacks on TV Republika. “A bunch of lame ducks…”

One of the YouTubers whose personal data was used in the attacks on TV Republika accidentally learned that the investigation in which he was considered an injured party had been discontinued. “A bunch of lame ducks, you haven’t been able to do anything with this case, and now you’ve discontinued the proceedings?!” commented Michał Rachoń on the information in a heated reaction.

Dawid Bączkowicz, known online as Bonkol, is one of the people whose data was used for false reports to emergency services as well as other actions targeting TV Republika. The YouTuber informed users on the X platform that he had just learned that the investigation in his case, in which he appeared as a victim of illegal actions, had allegedly been discontinued on May 11 this year.

“Today I found out that the investigation in my case conducted by the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime in Katowice was DISCONTINUED 8 days ago,” he wrote.

He announced that he would file an appeal in the matter. He added that for more than two years he had “repeatedly provided further data and new testimony,” yet nobody had contacted him. He recalled that Jan Adryański and journalists from TV Republika were also injured parties in the case.

“Are we just leaving it like this and waiting until one of us breaks down, or is there a chance for any contact from you, for example from Warsaw?” he added at the end, addressing the police.

He stressed that he had not yet received any official letter from the prosecutor’s office. “I’m waiting for the mail — today I myself made a phone call to check whether, in this recently publicized case, there was anything else that needed to be reported, whether I should come in or provide additional testimony, and I found out that it had been discontinued and that I would receive a letter any day now,” he wrote. When he asked about the reason, he allegedly heard that “the case was not easy.”

Michał Rachoń, program director of Republika, also commented on the surprising information. He pointed out that the discontinuation took place already at a time when attacks on the station were underway. He cited information resulting from Republika’s findings that the services had already known about the first alarming reports connected with the station on May 5.

“For three years, you bunch of incompetents, you haven’t been able to do anything with this case, and now you’ve discontinued the proceedings?! What is going on here?” Rachoń asked.
