Hołownia takes another jab at Tusk? “I’m not the kind of man who destroys everyone around him”

“I don’t pay attention, because I don’t really care, to the hysteria of those acting as if the parliamentary elections were in a week, when they’re actually two years away. This means that the Polska 2050 Party will be able to build up its potential support between 7 and 10 percent and become the kingmaker in the next Sejm,” said Szymon Hołownia, Marshal of the Sejm and leader of the Polska 2050 Party, in an interview with TV Republika.

Szymon Hołownia plans to step down as chairman of the Polska 2050 Party. According to coalition agreements, his term as Marshal of the Sejm will end on November 13, 2025.

The politician has announced that he does not intend to take the post of deputy prime minister in Donald Tusk’s government or continue leading the party. Instead, he is seeking the position of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The election for a new leader of the Polska 2050 Party is scheduled for January 2026.

It is not yet known who will take the helm of the Polska 2050 Party. In a recent poll, nearly 40 percent of respondents said that Hołownia’s departure from the party would have negative consequences and mark its eventual downfall.

When asked about his political plans in an interview with TV Republika, Szymon Hołownia said that the Polska 2050 Party has “a good future.”

“The Polska 2050 Party is an organization that will manage just fine, and from the very beginning, I’ve said that I wouldn’t stay with it forever. In every organization, there comes a time when, after the founder’s era, comes the moment for successors to take responsibility. I’m the kind of leader who, unlike others, doesn’t wipe everyone out around him. From the very beginning of this organization – just as with the previous ones I founded – I’ve been looking for people smarter, better, and stronger than me, so that they could take responsibility for the organization. That moment has come now, and I think two years before the elections is a good time,” said Hołownia.

“I don’t pay attention, because I don’t really care, to the hysteria of those acting as if the parliamentary elections were in a week, when they’re actually two years away. This means that the Polska 2050 Party will be able to build up its potential support between 7 and 10 percent and become the kingmaker in the next Sejm. Because we can already see that in 2027, the political scene will likely fragment, and on both sides of the political divide, there will be many different entities and organizations trying to push through their own visions for Poland,” he added.
