“Human trafficking today isn’t punished—it’s rewarded with positions.” Powerful statement by Golińska!

“Today in Poland, human smuggling is not punished with penalties but rewarded with official posts,” stated Małgorzata Golińska, a member of the Sejm representing the Law and Justice (PiS) party, during Tuesday’s parliamentary session. Her statement referred to information disclosed by TV Republika concerning individuals involved in the smuggling of illegal migrants.

On Tuesday, TV Republika revealed shocking details from the prosecution office. According to the information, Klementyna Suchanow—an expert associated both with the commission investigating alleged repression under the PiS government and the commission on Russian and Belarusian influence between 2004 and 2024—is mentioned in the prosecution files as a collaborator with Grupa Granica and other members of a network involved in organizing the illegal transport of migrants. She is accused of consciously supporting activities aimed at facilitating the illegal crossing of the Polish-Belarusian border by foreigners, and their further transportation to Western European countries, particularly Germany.

The files also mention—within a similar context—the names of Bartosz Kramek from the Open Dialogue Foundation and Paweł Kasprzak from the Citizens of the Republic of Poland movement.

The revelations were extensively discussed by members of parliament during Tuesday’s session. The Prime Minister himself also addressed the issue, blaming the United Right (Zjednoczona Prawica) government for facilitating the influx of illegal migrants into Poland. This prompted strong responses, including from Małgorzata Golińska of the PiS party.

“Today I listen to the politicians of the December 13 coalition talking about how important security is, how crucial it is to protect the borders and ensure the integrity of the barrier, and I can say that this is not only cynicism and villainy on your part, but it amounts to compulsive and sociopathic lying,”

Addressing the governing coalition, she added: “You have the audacity to speak today about border security, when not only did you complain to every international institution while we were trying to build the barrier and appeal to halt its construction, but you even cooperated with people who destroyed security infrastructure at the border.”

“You dare to speak of border protection, while you gave positions and posts to individuals who were involved in the smuggling of illegal migrants, cooperating in this regard with the Belarusian regime. Do you hear this, ladies and gentlemen? Today in Poland, human smuggling is not punished with penalties but rewarded with official posts,”

 she concluded pointedly.
