“If it hadn’t been for the Parliamentary Club of Law and Justice (PiS), the Sejm wouldn’t have even considered the resolution commemorating the Holy Father, Pope Francis,” wrote Mariusz Błaszczak on X.
Błaszczak: Without PiS, the Sejm wouldn’t have addressed the resolution on the Pope
The 33rd sitting of the Sejm began with a tribute to Pope Francis, who passed away on Monday.
“For millions of people around the world, including many Poles, he was a spiritual guide and a moral authority,” said Speaker Szymon Hołownia.
PiS MP Mariusz Błaszczak stated that “if it weren’t for the Law and Justice Parliamentary Club, the Sejm would not have taken up the resolution commemorating the Holy Father, Pope Francis.”
“The Presidium, where the December 13 coalition removed the representative of the largest parliamentary group, was surprised by the initiative—they didn’t expect that in a Catholic country, one might want to acknowledge the passing of the Pope,” he added.
