“If you can’t do it, then leave the government.” Czarnek assures: We will give Poles normality

– “In Poland, we have coal,” said Przemysław Czarnek on Danuta Holecka’s program, referring to rising energy costs and EU climate policy. The politician criticized the ETS system, pointing to its impact on electricity prices and calling for its abandonment. – “We are leaving the ETS (…) We will give Poles normality,” he declared.

Przemysław Czarnek, speaking on Danuta Holecka’s program on Telewizja Republika, addressed issues related to energy policy and energy costs in Poland, emphasizing the importance of domestic natural resources.

– “Ladies and gentlemen, in Poland we have coal. Every Pole has their own common sense,” he said, arguing that traditional energy sources should remain the foundation of the country’s energy sector.

The politician criticized EU mechanisms, including the emissions trading system. In his view, they contribute to rising energy costs for consumers.

– “First, Poles were saddled with enormous, shocking electricity bills, and then they were pushed toward unstable energy sources,” he stated.

Czarnek also pointed to the structure of energy production in Poland, highlighting the role of coal.

– “In January this year, the energy mix looked as follows: 60 to 65% of energy was still generated from coal, because there is no alternative,” he said.

Referring to renewable energy sources, he noted their variability.

– “From photovoltaics (…) only 3 to 5–6% of energy was generated in January, because the sun simply doesn’t shine in Poland in winter,” he stressed.

The politician called for a shift in energy policy and a departure from the EU ETS system, outlining his vision for the future of the energy sector.

– “From coal, from nuclear power, and without ETS,” he repeated several times.

He also emphasized the need for government action.

– “We are leaving the ETS. Show how you are going to do it. We know how to do it. If you can’t, then leave the government. We will give Poles normality,” he said.
