Iga Świątek Clinches Fourth Roland Garros Title!

Iga Świątek has reaffirmed her supremacy on the clay courts of Paris, capturing her fourth French Open title with a commanding performance. The Polish tennis star defeated Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, in the final.

Świątek’s previous French Open victories came against Sofia Kenin in 2020, Coco Gauff in 2022, and Karolína Muchová in 2023. At 23, the Pole now boasts five Grand Slam titles, cementing her status at the pinnacle of women’s tennis.

Paolini, who had never advanced past the third round at the French Open before this year, emerged as a surprise contender. However, she was unable to overcome Świątek’s dominance in the final.

The match began with both players exhibiting strong gameplay. Although Świątek was the first to secure a break point, Paolini managed to break her serve early, taking a 2-1 lead. Świątek quickly regained control, breaking back to level the score at 2-2, and then taking Paolini’s serve again to lead 4-2. She closed out the first set 6-2 in just over 30 minutes.

In the second set, Świątek continued to dominate, winning the first two games and breaking Paolini’s serve once more. Paolini struggled to find her rhythm as Świątek’s relentless play secured another break. Świątek won the set 6-1, extending her winning streak in Paris to 21 consecutive matches.
