Iga Świątek continues her impressive run at the US Open, demonstrating why she is the top-ranked player in the world. In a thrilling third-round match that took place late Saturday night into Sunday morning, the Polish tennis player defeated Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
The New York tournament has proven to be a challenging battleground for Świątek from the start. In the first round, she faced a tough opponent in Kamilla Rakhimova, who managed to claim 10 games against the World No.1. Despite these early struggles, Świątek found her rhythm in the second round, where she dominated Japan’s Ena Shibahara, winning comfortably in just over an hour with a score of 6-0, 6-1.
