Illegal Commission of Sroka seeks punishment for former CBA officer

After former CBA officer Krystian Dobrzyński failed for the third time to appear for questioning, the illegal parliamentary investigative commission on Pegasus decided on Tuesday that it would submit a request to the District Court in Warsaw for consent to detain him and bring him in for questioning.

The chairwoman of the commission, Magdalena Sroka (PSL-TD), said that Dobrzyński had sent an ineffective excuse for his absence from Tuesday’s session of the commission.

She recalled that Dobrzyński was first summoned for questioning in January – he did not appear, and according to the commission, he did not provide a valid justification for his absence, so it turned to the court, which imposed a disciplinary fine of PLN 1,500 on him. The second date for his questioning was in July, but the former CBA officer also failed to appear, and the commission asked the court to punish him for his unjustified absence with a fine of PLN 3,000 – this request is still under consideration.

Since Dobrzyński once again failed to appear before the investigative commission on Tuesday, it decided to request the District Court in Warsaw to consent to his detention and escort before the commission, as well as to impose another financial penalty for his absence.

From the information previously provided at earlier sessions of the investigative commission, it appears that Dobrzyński, when informing that he would not appear, referred to the ruling of the Constitutional Tribunal, which in September 2024, following a complaint by PiS MPs, ruled that the scope of activity of the investigative commission on Pegasus was unconstitutional.
