In Search of Acts of Sabotage. The Military Will Inspect Around 120 km of Railway Lines in Eastern Poland

The services subordinate to the Ministry of National Defence (MON) are working closely together to clarify the act of sabotage on the tracks near Garwolin. The military will inspect a stretch of approximately 120 km along the railway line running to the border in Hrubieszów, deputy prime minister and head of the Ministry of National Defence (MON) Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced.

The defence chief assured that the services subordinate to the Ministry of National Defence (MON) are working in close coordination to clarify the act of sabotage that occurred near the Mika station (near Życzyn), on the Warsaw–Dęblin route. As he stated, the military will examine an approximately 120-kilometre section of the tracks “along the railway line” running to the border in Hrubieszów.

He indicated that the operation involves, among others, the Territorial Defence Forces, including the 2nd Lublin Brigade of the TDF and its 25th Light Infantry Battalion from Zamość.

The situation is serious enough that Prime Minister Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz themselves rejected the claim made by the spokesperson of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, who argued that “there are no grounds to conclude” that third parties were involved. “Unfortunately, the worst suspicions have been confirmed. On the Warsaw–Lublin route (the village of Mika), an act of sabotage has taken place”, Donald Tusk wrote today on social media.

He later added that the explosion was likely intended to blow up a train on the Warsaw–Dęblin route.
