Paweł Śliz, an MP from the Polska 2050 Party (Polska 2050), was asked on TV Republika about the case of Roman Giertych. “This is a matter for the Civic Platform,” he said when asked whether Giertych is a burden for the entire coalition.
“In 2013, nearly PLN 1 million was transferred from a company established in Liechtenstein to the law firm account of Roman Giertych. The management board of the Vaduz-based entity included, among others, an employee of the current Civic Platform (KO) MP’s law firm and a Russian specialist in setting up companies in tax havens. Journalists from wp.pl and money.pl revealed that the transfers to Giertych’s law firm were allegedly handled by his associate, Sebastian J., known as ‘Foka’. This thread was never investigated by the prosecutor’s office”, Niezalezna.pl recently reported.
The Giertych case was also addressed during “First Morning Interview” hosted by Andrzej Gajcy on TV Republika, where Paweł Śliz from the Polska 2050 Party (Polska 2050) was a guest.
“I have no problem saying that I expect this matter to be clarified as well”, Śliz stated.
Although the ruling coalition politician declared he had no issue with the case being clarified, he was unable to explain why Prosecutor General Waldemar Żurek is not dealing with it. He even claimed that Żurek “is not a prosecutor”, but only a minister.
And is the Giertych case not a burden for the entire ruling coalition? Gajcy pressed.
“This is a matter for the Civic Platform. He is a Civic Platform MP – if necessary, let the prosecutor hold him accountable, I see no problem”, Śliz said.
It is worth recalling that earlier, the leader of the Polska 2050 Party (Polska 2050), Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, stated that it is beginning to look as though Giertych is an “untouchable politician”.
