It Was Citizens Who Financed Nawrocki’s Presidential Campaign

It was ordinary citizens who financed Karol Nawrocki’s presidential election campaign. Party funding accounted for only 5 percent of the total contributions. By comparison, in Rafał Trzaskowski’s case party funds made up as much as 57 percent, for Szymon Hołownia 80 percent, and for Magdalena Biejat as much as 97 percent.

Nawrocki Could Count on Ordinary Citizens During His Campaign

The total campaign expenses for both Rafał Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki amounted to around 24.6 million zlotys. However, in the case of the candidate backed by Civic Platform, only 5.9 million zlotys came from citizens. Meanwhile, citizens contributed as much as 23.3 million zlotys to Karol Nawrocki’s campaign.

Szymon Hołownia’s campaign expenditures amounted to 8 million zlotys, of which 800,000 came from citizens. In Sławomir Mentzen’s case, the campaign cost 5.5 million zlotys, with 3.65 million zlotys coming from citizen contributions.

Grzegorz Braun’s total campaign spending amounted to 3.85 million zlotys, entirely financed by citizens. At the other end of the spectrum was Magdalena Biejat’s campaign. For the Left senator, around 2 million zlotys were spent on the campaign, with as much as 96 percent of the funding coming from the party.
