Jarosław Kaczyński on the death of Barbara Skrzypek: She was summoned for questioning in a trumped-up case

“Barbara was summoned for questioning by Prosecutor Wrzosek in a case that is entirely trumped up, but is part of this operation for which Donald Tusk is responsible, and in this situation, Roman Giertych plays a particular role. She got very upset by it. Firstly, she knew it was that operation because she was someone who followed the political scene. Secondly, it was an interrogation in a matter of no significance,” said Law and Justice (PiS) leader Jarosław Kaczyński on Telewizja Republika.

Barbara Skrzypek (66), a longtime associate of Jarosław Kaczyński, passed away recently. She had been affiliated with Law and Justice for 30 years until her retirement in 2020. On Wednesday, she was questioned for several hours by Prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek in an investigation concerning the so-called “two towers.”

PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński told Telewizja Republika that Barbara Skrzypek was extremely nervous about the interrogation.

“The tension was huge because she knew how fiercely opposed to us Ms. Wrzosek is. At the same time, she knew what is happening in Poland right now. It’s difficult to even talk about breaking the rule of law or the death of the rule of law, but it’s also hard to say that the law exists in Poland anymore,” said the PiS leader on Telewizja Republika.

Jarosław Kaczyński also stated that Barbara Skrzypek’s lawyer was not allowed to attend the questioning, a decision made by the prosecutor.

“Ms. Wrzosek’s role in this interrogation was, of course, very significant and disastrous—tragic, in fact. But primarily, there were two lawyers directly involved. One of them was Mr. Dubois. They supposedly represented the allegedly aggrieved Gerard Birgfellner, a man who wanted to extract money from Srebrna, which is owned by a foundation, without any basis for doing so,” the PiS leader underscored.
