Journalist presses for answers on police raid at Sakiewicz’s home – Ministry spokesperson fires back

Journalist Marcin Dobski, in connection with the police intervention at the apartment of Tomasz Sakiewicz, sent a series of questions to the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. What did he receive in response? A remark from the Ministry’s spokesperson that “he would not set the deadline for a reply”.

For several days, there has been a pattern of harassment targeting TV Republika journalists linked to false reports. The culmination of these actions was Friday’s forced entry by police into the apartment-office of the CEO of TV Republika, Tomasz Sakiewicz. The officers, intervening over an alleged child-at-risk case, did not have identification, refused to identify themselves, and handcuffed the CEO’s assistant.

So far, the services have detained a 53-year-old man who ultimately turned out to be a victim of impersonation. Equipment belonging to a streamer was also confiscated – he has been reporting for three years that he is a victim of impersonation and false reports.

Some media outlets – amid the state’s ineffectiveness – are attempting to clarify the details of the entire case:

Journalist Marcin Dobski, in connection with the police intervention at the apartment of Tomasz Sakiewicz, sent a series of questions to the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. What did he receive in response? A remark from the Ministry’s spokesperson that “he would not set the deadline for a reply”.

“Mr Dobski sent 20 questions on Friday before 6 p.m. and set a deadline for the Ministry until Monday. I remind you that by law we have 14 days to respond. You will receive the information within the timeframe specified by regulations, not by you”, wrote Karolina Gałecka on social media, publishing several of the journalist’s questions.

In the comments, internet users point out that the whole of Poland has been abuzz with the case for several days, and that Gałecka could focus on providing answers instead of wasting time on social media disputes.
