On Sunday, June 1, the second round of the presidential election takes place. Polling stations are open from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. In exceptional circumstances, voting hours may be extended (if this occurs, the election silence will also be extended). The election silence begins 24 hours before the voting day. To receive a ballot, voters must present an identity document and a vote is cast by marking an “X” next to the name of the chosen candidate.
The second round of the presidential election takes place on Sunday, June 1, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. In overseas precincts, especially on the American continents, voting is scheduled for Saturday, May 31. Poles elect the president for a five-year term. The election is universal, secret, direct, and equal — as stipulated by the Constitution and the Electoral Code.
All citizens with active voting rights may vote in the second round. Votes can be cast:
- In the voter’s permanent voting precinct,
- In another location, if a request to change the voting location was submitted,
- By mail (after prior notification),
- By proxy,
- Abroad – at one of over 500 precincts established by Polish consulates.
On election day, each eligible voter will receive one A5-sized ballot. The ballot will include:
- The first and last names of the candidates,
- Two boxes – mark an “X” (i.e., at least two intersecting lines) in the box next to the selected candidate,
- Voting instructions,
- The seal of the precinct election commission.
A vote is considered valid only if an “X” is placed in one box. Marking both boxes or none renders the vote invalid.
Before placing the ballot into the ballot box, it is advisable to check its completeness and condition. If the ballot is illegible, damaged, lacks a seal, or contains a printing error – report it immediately to the commission and request a new ballot.
