Justyna Kowalczyk Secures Back-to-Back Victory in La Sgambeda Ski Race

In the 33rd edition of La Sgambeda, the cross-country skiing spectacle held in Livigno, Justyna Kowalczyk dominated the field once again, replicating her success from the previous year. The five-time Olympic medalist left no room for competition on the 30-kilometer course, crossing the finish line with a commanding lead.

Retired since 2019, Kowalczyk showcased her enduring prowess by outclassing her rivals. She triumphed over second-place finisher Emilie Bulle from France by a remarkable one minute and 14 seconds. The gap widened even further with German skier Sigrid Mutscheller, who trailed by over two and a half minutes.

The event, boasting 33 years of tradition, saw participation from 71 women and 337 men. The fastest among them was French skier Gerard Agnellet.

Justyna Kowalczyk, with a glittering career featuring multiple Olympic and World Championship golds and four World Cup victories, continues to leave an indelible mark on the world of cross-country skiing.
