Kaczyński Hits Out at Government, Calls Nawrocki’s Move a “Major Success”

If it were not for President Karol Nawrocki, our security would be weakened – wrote the leader of Law and Justice (PiS), Jarosław Kaczyński, on X. He accused those in power of pursuing a “policy of weakening relations” with the most important ally.

Late on Thursday evening Polish time, Donald Trump announced that the United States would deploy an additional 5,000 American troops to Poland. At the very beginning of his statement, the US president emphasized that this was the result of his relationship with President Karol Nawrocki.

President Karol Nawrocki, speaking at a rally in the village of Bielany-Jarosławy (Sokołów County), addressed relations with Donald Trump and the presence of US troops.

“Once again, thank you – I have already thanked President Trump for this – because American soldiers, together with Polish soldiers, Polish generals, and our armed forces, are a guarantee of security for all of us,” the president said. He added that Trump had promised him the release of Andrzej Poczobut and had kept his word.

The clear role of the president and the incomparably lower level of engagement by those in power were pointed out by the leader of Law and Justice (PiS).

“For many months, representatives of the government have pursued a policy that weakened relations with our most important ally. When key decisions concerning security were being made, there was a lack of effective diplomacy, professionalism, and real influence,” he wrote on X.

As he noted, “Poles have the right to expect effectiveness from those in power in matters of state security, not a series of embarrassing failures.”

“This is a major success of President Karol Nawrocki,” Kaczyński emphasized.
