Kaczyński in Kłodzko on the Government’s Scandals: “This Is Something Extremely Alarming”

“Events took place here that showed there are bad people – and very bad people – within the ranks of the political formation currently in power. People who, through their actions, rejected the most fundamental principles of honesty and decency, the principles of our culture. They trampled on them in an extraordinarily brutal way. They have been punished, although one of those sentences appears far too lenient,” said Law and Justice (PiS) leader Jarosław Kaczyński in Kłodzko, recalling the zoophilia-pedophilia scandal involving a Civic Platform (KO) activist.

“We came here, and I must admit that this place has changed tremendously. Many years ago, the situation here was much worse than it is today. That makes me very happy,” the Law and Justice (PiS) leader began.

“These lands are a matter of Poland’s national interest. My late brother spoke about this, and so do I. We must do everything possible to ensure that Poland continues to grow. For that to happen, Poland needs a good government. The elections ahead of us are about whether our homeland will have a good government. Only such a government will be able to deal with the difficult situation we face. Why are we here today? Because a good government requires good people. For Poland to develop, it needs good people. Yet events here have shown that within the ranks of the political formation currently in power there are bad people – and very bad people. People who, through their actions, rejected the most fundamental principles of honesty and decency, the principles of our culture. They trampled on them in an extraordinarily brutal way. They have been punished, although one of those sentences appears far too lenient,” Kaczyński said.

He compared the events in Kłodzko with the scandal at Warsaw’s South Hospital.

“What happened here also occurred in a different form in Warsaw at South Hospital. In that hospital there were not only financial irregularities, […] but also something that violated the most fundamental principles – the desecration of human remains. It can be said that there is a certain connection between these events. In both cases, many people must have known about what was happening,” he stated.

“Within this political formation there are people who have no moral compass whatsoever. They stand outside the culture that forms the foundation of our entire social order across all civilized countries. This is something extremely alarming. To some extent, it reveals the true nature of this political formation. The prolonged delay in responding, the sluggish actions of the prosecution service, and the sheer brazenness displayed by that young man – all of this is terrifying,” he charged, referring to his political opponents.
