Kaczyński meets French election frontrunner Bardella: The EU’s current order is nearing its end

“Jordan Bardella’s victory in the French presidential election would be a decisive step toward the creation of a coalition in Europe capable of changing the EU. We share the view that the EU should continue to exist, but that it should serve nations, their freedom and their sovereignty. Today, this must be said clearly: it does not do so, and this state of affairs must come to an end. There are numerous signs that the moment of its end is drawing near. This is a very optimistic vision, but now that vision is becoming real,” Law and Justice leader Jarosław Kaczyński said today after meeting the French politician.

Jordan Bardella, chairman of France’s National Rally and indicated by polls as the frontrunner in next year’s French presidential election, is on a two-day visit to Poland.

On Thursday, he met with the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, as well as with Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Krzysztof Bosak.

This morning, Bardella visited the Polish-Belarusian border. He was accompanied, among others, by the Head of the Chancellery of the President of Poland, Paweł Szefernaker, and PiS MEP Adam Bielan.

“Jordan Bardella visited Kuźnica today at my invitation. He was able to see the solutions that effectively protect our border, from the physical barrier to the modern monitoring system. This security infrastructure, launched by the Law and Justice government in response to the migration crisis triggered by Lukashenko’s regime, remains one of the most important pillars of Poland’s and Europe’s security,”

Szefernaker wrote on social media.

Bardella: We will bring about a turning point in the EU

In the afternoon, Bardella met in Warsaw with Law and Justice leader Jarosław Kaczyński.

During their joint press conference, Kaczyński stressed that the talks “showed that there are many very important, fundamental points of agreement that define our goals, our way of thinking and our views.”

Bardella said that over the past 48 hours he had held many meetings in Poland. He also thanked his hosts for the initiative to visit the Polish-Belarusian border, where, as he put it, he “saw many measures to prevent migration pressure that had been introduced under the PiS government.”

“I think France and Poland are friendly countries, and in recent times their relations have been further strengthened both economically and militarily. I believe that with our friends here we share the same vision and the same values on issues such as preventing migration pressure. We also take a negative view of EU ideas such as the Green Deal, which harms our industries and farmers. The ECR and Patriots for Europe fought together to prevent the adoption of the Mercosur agreement, which is bad for our countries and our farmers. I hope that in 2027, when we win, each in our own country, we will be able to bring about a turning point in the functioning of the EU and the European Commission, so that they serve our nations,”

the French politician added.

Kaczyński: The end is drawing near

Jarosław Kaczyński expressed hope that Jordan Bardella would soon become president of France, calling it “an immensely important change.”

“We spoke about this during our talks. It would be a decisive step toward the creation of a coalition in Europe capable of changing the EU. We share the view that the EU should continue to exist, but that it should serve nations, their freedom and their sovereignty. Today, this must be said clearly: it does not do so, and this state of affairs must come to an end. There are numerous signs that the moment of its end is drawing near. This is a very optimistic vision, but now that vision is becoming real. To a great extent, it depends on the situation that develops in both our countries, and hence the enormous importance of this visit and these talks,”

the PiS leader said.

He once again stressed that Bardella, as president of France, would be “an extremely important figure in Europe.”

“Europe must be changed; on this we agree. It must be strengthened; on this we agree. It must appeal to values; on some issues our political formations differ, but this does not stand in the way of our cooperation. This has been agreed here, and I am counting on further meetings that will allow various matters to be clarified. This is a very good day not only for Polish-French relations, not only for relations between our political formations, but also in the broader context of Europe’s future,”

Kaczyński added.

He emphasized that National Rally and PiS are united by the fact that both parties “have had an extremely difficult time.”

“We have been attacked from all sides using many different methods, often very brutal ones. This resilience will prove useful, because a very difficult battle lies ahead of us, but I hope it will be a victorious one for us. (…) We are moving toward victory,”

he concluded.
