Karol Nawrocki sworn in before the National Assembly (ZN). As of now, Poland has a new president! “The President of the Republic of Poland has taken the oath before the NA, as outlined in Article 130 of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland,” said the Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia.
According to the Electoral Code, the newly elected president takes the oath before the National Assembly on the final day of the outgoing president’s term in office. Today – August 6 – marks the end of Andrzej Duda’s second term, and it is on this day that Karol Nawrocki’s swearing-in ceremony is taking place.

Upon arrival at the Sejm for the ceremony, President Andrzej Duda and First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda, along with President-elect Karol Nawrocki and his wife Marta Nawrocka, were welcomed by the Speakers of the Sejm and Senate, Szymon Hołownia and Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska. Szymon Hołownia, Speaker of the Sejm, opened the National Assembly session for the purpose of swearing in the new President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki. Those gathered in the chamber sang the national anthem.
The Chancellery of the Prime Minister announced that Donald Tusk is attending the ceremony.

Karol Nawrocki has taken the oath before the National Assembly.
“Assuming, by the will of the Nation, the office of President of the Republic of Poland, I solemnly swear to remain faithful to the provisions of the Constitution, to steadfastly safeguard the dignity of the Nation, the independence and security of the State, and that the good of the Homeland and the well-being of its citizens shall always be my highest duty,” the oath read, ending with: “So help me God.”
Szymon Hołownia, Speaker of the Sejm, concluded: “The President of the Republic of Poland has taken the oath before the NA, as outlined in Article 130 of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland.”
