It was the Brazilian athlete Cassiano Da Silva who initially took the lead with a remarkable leap of 5.97 meters, setting a new South American record.
Kucharczyk’s Unyielding Determination
Undeterred by the stiff competition, Kucharczyk launched a formidable assault in the fourth round, finally surpassing the six-meter mark with an impressive jump of 6.01 meters. Demonstrating her relentless spirit, she further improved her performance in the fifth round, adding another seven centimeters to her record-breaking distance.
Born in 1991, Karolina Kucharczyk competes in the T20 category, which encompasses athletes with intellectual disabilities that developed before the age of 18. Her outstanding achievements include gold medals at the Olympic Games in London and Tokyo, as well as a plethora of prestigious medals from world and European championships.
