Legia Warsaw Fans with a Strong Message! Trzaskowski and Nitras in the Line of Fire

Yesterday, during a match of the 32nd round of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa between Legia Warsaw and Lech Poznań, Legia supporters once again addressed Rafał Trzaskowski from the stands. They displayed a banner bearing a pointed slogan, targeting not only the Civic Coalition’s presidential candidate but also Sławomir Nitras, the Minister of Sport.

The first round of the presidential election is scheduled for May 18, though it is the second round, planned for June 1, that is expected to be decisive. The election campaign, ongoing for several months, continues to intensify and is influencing various spheres of public life. Political engagement is now visibly manifesting even during football matches.

On multiple occasions—most recently just on Saturday—Niezalezna.pl has reported on further instances of football fans expressing opposition to Rafał Trzaskowski, with supporters of various teams voicing their criticism. Fans across the country have not held back in condemning the Civic Coalition’s candidate.

Of course, there are also figures—such as Sławomir Nitras—who attempt to “explain” the fans’ actions. “This is an orchestrated campaign by Nawrocki’s team. I have no doubt about it,” the Minister of Sport asserted several days ago. He went so far as to claim that “stadium hooligans are now backing Nawrocki.”

Another such display took place during yesterday’s match between Legia Warsaw and Lech Poznań. Among Legia supporters, a banner was unfurled reading: “Trzaskowski will destroy Poland just as he is destroying Warsaw. This banner was commissioned by Sławek, who was destroyed by drugs.”

This is not the first time that Legia fans have openly expressed their views on Donald Tusk’s deputy.
