Mariusz Błaszczak Sends a Message to the Ruling Party: “Your Rule Will Not Last Forever. You Will Answer for Breaking the Law”

“We have gathered to protest against lawlessness and to support Minister Woś. We have a message for those in power. Let them remember that their rule will not last forever and that sooner or later they will answer for breaking the law,” Mariusz Błaszczak said at a protest in front of the National Prosecutor’s Office (PK). The chairman of the Law and Justice (PiS) parliamentary club emphasized that the actions of the Pegasus Commission are “an act of political repression.”

Błaszczak explained that the Pegasus system was acquired solely to catch criminals. “Was it used for surveillance? It was not. Even former Minister of Justice Bodnar stated that the system was used each time based on a court decision. The previous minister did not see any instance of the system being used without court approval,” he stressed. The Pegasus Commission also did not indicate any such cases.

“So everything related to the actions of the pseudo-commission is an act of political repression aimed at the Law and Justice environment,” Mariusz Błaszczak emphasized.

He added that Michał Woś was responsible for acquiring the system and carried it out properly: the system worked, it was not overpaid for, and it functioned effectively.

“The allegation against Minister Woś originates from the audit by the Supreme Audit Office (NIK) conducted by Marian Banaś. The accusation claims that the system was purchased from the wrong budget line, allegedly not the one it should have been. This is absurd – the state budget is unified,” Błaszczak assessed.

He briefly explained the government’s fervor on this issue – it is because the system detected individuals closely associated with Donald Tusk among potential criminals. “The formation of the coalition on December 13 was meant to guarantee impunity for people connected to Donald Tusk. We now see examples of this in the lawlessness occurring in the country,” the former Minister of National Defence recalled.

He also supplemented information regarding the NIK audit – there was a legal opinion in the Chamber confirming that Minister Woś’s actions were lawful.

Michał Woś also spoke, explaining that transferring funds from the Justice Fund (Fundusz Sprawiedliwości) to the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA) was completely legal. He reminded that Article 4 of the law on services does not state that the CBA can be financed “exclusively” from the state budget, and that this message is being promoted in the media by representatives of the December 13 coalition.
