Mariusz Wlazły, one of the greatest legends of Polish volleyball, announced the end of his sports career at the end of the 2022/2023 season. This decision shook the volleyball world as Wlazły was one of the best attackers in the world and a key player in the Polish national team and many clubs around the world.
Wlazły started his volleyball career at WKS Wieluń and then played for SPS Zduńska Wola. From 2003 to 2015, he represented the colors of Skra Bełchatów, winning many titles of the Polish and European champion. In 2015, he moved to Al-Arabi Ad-Dauha on a short-term contract and then to Trefl Gdańsk, where he will end his career at the end of the 2022/2023 season.
In the Polish national team, Wlazły played over 350 matches and won many awards, including a gold medal at the 2014 World Championships and a silver medal at the 2008 Olympic Games.
Mariusz Wlazły was not only one of the best volleyball players in the world but also enjoyed great respect and recognition from fans and teammates for his dedication, hard work, and positive character. His retirement from sports is the end of an era in Polish volleyball, but also an opportunity to thank him for everything he has done for this sport.
