“The EU is at a turning point, also economically. It has made many mistakes – on migration issues and the Green Deal. Our discussion referred to these doubts that have emerged in public debate, not only in Poland but across Europe,” said President of Poland Karol Nawrocki during a joint press conference with President of the Swiss Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter.

On Thursday, President of the Swiss Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter paid a working visit to Poland.
“Both in Poland and Switzerland we share the same values – attachment to sovereignty, freedom, and democracy. These values also translate into concrete economic and business solutions,” said the President of Poland, noting that in 2024 year-on-year trade between Poland and Switzerland increased by 8 percent.
“Switzerland is an important economic partner for Poland, and Poland, in Central and Eastern Europe, is Switzerland’s largest partner in the region. This is reflected in our economic and investment relations,” he added.
One of the elements of investment support is the Swiss Contribution, known as the Swiss funds.
The President also appreciated Switzerland’s response to the Russian provocation over Poland on September 9 and 10.
“I would like to express my gratitude and respect to Madam President and the entire Swiss nation that, despite being a neutral country, Switzerland clearly expressed its stance on Russia’s attack on Ukraine. There was also a Swiss reaction to the violation of Poland’s border by drones on September 10 this year. For that, Madam President, I thank you,” said Karol Nawrocki.
The talks also touched upon the topic of the European Union (EU), even though Switzerland is not a member of the Community.
“The EU is at a turning point, also economically. It has made many mistakes – on migration issues and the Green Deal. Our discussion referred to these doubts that have emerged in public debate, not only in Poland but across Europe,” emphasized President Nawrocki.
