Michał Helik has also been named Player of the Season by his team

Polish footballer Michał Helik has plenty of reasons to celebrate after his impressive performance helped Huddersfield retain its position in the Championship. To add to his accomplishments, Helik has also been named Player of the Season by his team, with the title being even more valuable as it was voted on by the fans.

Last summer, Helik left Barnsley, which was relegated from the Championship, to join another team from the league, Huddersfield. His new team fought hard to stay in the league, and Helik played a significant role in their success. The 27-year-old played 36 league matches, scored two goals, and provided the same number of assists.

His excellent performance on the pitch earned him the prestigious title of “Hargreaves Memorial Player of the Year” for Huddersfield. The team, managed by Neil Warnock, had a successful season and retained their position in the league.

Helik has played in seven matches for the Polish national team so far, all of them in 2021 under the guidance of Paulo Sousa. However, he was not included in the squad by subsequent coaches Czesław Michniewicz and Fernando Santos.

Interestingly, Helik’s former club Cracovia has caught the attention of Sheffield Wednesday, a club fighting for promotion to the Championship. According to Footballeagueworld.co.uk, the club plans to try and sign the nearly 28-year-old Polish defender.

Michał Helik’s impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for the talented footballer. However, one thing is for sure – his achievements this season are something to celebrate.
