Morawiecki: “Don’t Let Civic Coalition Bury the South Hospital Scandal”

Mateusz Morawiecki has taken to social media to ask what is happening with the investigation into the South Hospital scandal. He concludes that very little progress has been made. While the whistleblower was questioned, one of the scandal’s central figures has yet to receive a summons from prosecutors.

Morawiecki revisited the South Hospital scandal in a video posted on social media. He recalled the incident in which the body of a patient, who had been dead for several hours, was discovered in a hospital bathroom. He also reminded viewers that the whistleblower, Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski, spoke publicly about the case shortly after the first reports of irregularities at the facility emerged. Meanwhile, Donald Tusk immediately questioned the doctor’s credibility.

Later in the recording, the former prime minister asks why the investigation appears to have stalled.

“Because this scandal could bring down their government. It’s been a month since the whole affair came to light. They questioned the whistleblower within 48 hours. But their man, Dawid Kacprzyk – and pay attention – still hasn’t been questioned. Maybe he’s relaxing somewhere on vacation?” asked the former prime minister from the United Right.

Morawiecki then takes his criticism a step further, using sarcasm to make his point.

“Maybe opening a VIP lounge at the prosecutor’s office for Civic Platform (PO) politicians would help speed up the investigation?”

The former head of government concluded with an appeal not to allow politicians from the Civic Coalition (KO) to sweep the South Hospital scandal under the rug.

“Let’s not allow them to silence this. (…) Let’s keep up the pressure,” Morawiecki concluded.
