Morawiecki on Gazeta Polska’s publication about Czarzasty: “What is the Internal Security Agency doing?”

“What is the Internal Security Agency doing?” asked MP Mateusz Morawiecki (Law and Justice), referring to findings by Gazeta Polska concerning Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty. The former prime minister appeared for an interview on Polsat holding a copy of Gazeta Polska.

Gazeta Polska has established that for two years the current Marshal of the Sejm sat on the parliamentary committee for special services despite not having undergone vetting by the Internal Security Agency (ABW).

Had he done so, the services would have had to scrutinize the relationships of Włodzimierz Czarzasty and his wife with a Russian woman dealing in works of art, employed by an auction house linked to Russia’s largest bank controlled by the Kremlin. The woman holds shares in a hotel company whose vice-president is Małgorzata Czarzasty. Both she and her husband Włodzimierz Czarzasty are shareholders in the majority owner of that entity, wrote Piotr Nisztor.

Morawiecki on GP’s findings: A very important piece

Today, PiS MP Mateusz Morawiecki was a guest on Polsat News. He showed Gazeta Polska and referred to its findings.

Gazeta Polska published a very important piece concerning the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. And I think it is worth asking the questions the journalists asked here about the links between business interests, companies, and shareholdings connected to the Marshal and a Russian businesswoman who, in turn, has close ties to the Russian establishment. I have noticed that for 7–8 days the mainstream media have not been asking these questions about the second most important person in the state,” Morawiecki said.

“What is ABW doing? Why has Marshal Czarzasty—according to what I hear and what I see in this journalistic investigation—not undergone full and complete verification related to access to classified materials, instead giving only enigmatic answers at press conferences?” the former prime minister asked, adding: “That does not convince me.”
