Morawiecki: “We Must Fight for the Future of Europe”

Mateusz Morawiecki appeared on Thursday at the CPAC 2025 conservative conference. The former prime minister spoke about democratic values being violated by liberal-left European governments and the opportunities for economic development in cooperation with the USA.

Morawiecki pointed to the violation of freedom of speech and recalled, among other things, the unjustified annulment of elections in Romania and the breach of the rule of law by Tusk’s government in Poland.

I come to you from Europe. It was once a magnificent continent. We have an excellent past, but we must fight for a great future. Currently, I will present some numbers. Europe 25 years ago had a higher GDP than the USA. Now it is lower than in the USA. Poland’s industrial production today is 155 percent of that in 2017. Europe is at a crossroads. We must rise and regain strength. The challenges around us are truly great. Therefore, we must go hand in hand with the United States. We must abandon this model of action. Brussels bureaucracy cannot replace the economy. If we don’t change this, Europe will become a museum or a colony of Asian powers. Europe is now facing a foolish green deal and open-door policy. This happened in Germany and stifles freedom of speech. If we don’t fix these problems, there will be even more. China and Islamic terror are waiting for this and are at our gates.

The chairman of the ECR party in the European Parliament reminded that the presidential elections, which will take place in May in Poland, will be crucial for democracy.

Europe in the past used the word ambition. We need a renaissance of the European program. Europe was created based on economic programs and freedom. Today, however, it must face an army of bureaucracy and equality politicians. We observe the weakness of European policy and see limitations in developing artificial intelligence. Energy prices are soaring. Vice President Vance was right when he spoke about the “drill baby drill” program, which we envy you very much. In Europe, elections are being manipulated. You have certainly heard about what happened in Romania. Is this democracy? Liberal, leftist organizations received money from the European Union and USAID. Is this democracy and freedom? In three months, the first round of presidential elections in Poland will be over. Depending on who wins, my beloved country will move towards republican values or towards anti-values. My successor as prime minister is pro-German. He is destroying Poland, and we cannot allow him to do so.
