“Our fellow citizens must know – not from talk, but from votes – who supports this insane policy,” stated PiS MEP Patryk Jaki on platform X following the vote on the motion of no confidence against the European Commission, headed by Ursula von der Leyen. On Thursday, the European Parliament rejected the motion, with 360 MEPs voting against it. Among them were also politicians from Poland.
On Thursday, the European Parliament voted down the motion of no confidence against the European Commission under Ursula von der Leyen’s leadership. The motion had been submitted by Romanian MEP Gheorghe Piperea from the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), which is part of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group.
A total of 553 MEPs participated in the vote. 360 voted against the motion, 175 voted in favor, and 18 abstained.
Law and Justice (PiS) MEP Patryk Jaki commented on the outcome via social media. He stated that “Polish MEPs defended” Ursula von der Leyen “and her agenda,” noting that it includes illegal migration, an intensified Green Deal, the Mercosur trade agreement, and a ban on the sale of combustion engine cars starting in 2035.
“Importantly, Ursula von der Leyen received significantly fewer votes than a year ago. The system that is destroying Europe is defending itself, but it is getting weaker. And we have a duty to act. Our fellow citizens must know – not from talk, but from votes – who supports this insane policy,” he emphasized.
