The Deputy Speaker of the Sejm from the Confederation party, Krzysztof Bosak, has addressed the German ambassador to Poland. The issue concerns a planned auction of memorabilia belonging to victims of German war criminals, organized by a German auction house in Neuss. Thanks to pressure from opposition politicians and internet users, the auction will not take place. But the matter will not be forgotten quickly.
The case of the sale of memorabilia belonging, among others, to Polish victims of World War II was first reported by Cezary Gmyz, a journalist for TV Republika.

Krzysztof Bosak, the Deputy Speaker of the Sejm, commented on the matter. On his profile on X, the politician posted a photo of a short letter written by a son imprisoned in Majdanek to his father.
“A beautiful handwriting, isn’t it, Ambassador Berger? Perhaps instead of taking jabs at Polish politicians on social media, you could focus on improving Polish-German relations and demonstrate a willingness to act, along with tangible results, when it comes to returning to Poland the memorabilia of victims of German genocide against Poles?”
Bosak continues addressing the diplomat, stating that if the letter he posted, as well as other memorabilia, were never delivered by the occupiers, then handing them over to Poland would be a laudable gesture. He adds that, in cooperation with the Institute of National Remembrance, it would be possible to locate the intended recipients and deliver the correspondence.
Krzysztof Bosak points out to the chancellor yet another problem that could be resolved.
“The second matter: it would be useful for the Chancellor to propose some kind of comprehensive regulation for such situations so that there is no need to fight over every single auction and every single item.”
