President Karol Nawrocki’s first visit will take place in Washington, although this will only mark the beginning of a broad series of talks and meetings with other world leaders. The president’s detailed plan for the coming days is already known.
A few days before Karol Nawrocki’s departure to Washington for talks with U.S. President Donald Trump, Marcin Przydacz, head of the Bureau of International Policy (BPM) in the Chancellery of the President, spoke about the president’s further plans.
“Next week the president will embark on his first foreign visit. As he announced during the campaign, this first trip abroad will take place in Washington. This activity will begin in the White House. Direct talks with the President of the United States. First in a smaller format, later also between delegations,” he stated.
As he noted, “the main topic will be the security of our region and American activity in this part of the world.” – In addition, the presidents will discuss economic and industrial cooperation, but also in the field of energy security – he added.
And further: “straight from Washington the president will head to a second capital. He will land in Rome, where an audience with the Holy Father is planned. This has a very obvious dimension. Karol Nawrocki will build his presidency on such values.”
“After these events there will be a meeting with our partners from Italy. Of course, talks with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and President Sergio Mattarella – said Przydacz. The presidential minister stressed that “this offensive will not be limited to these capitals.” – The president decided to visit our close neighborhood. On Monday he will pay a visit to Vilnius. There he will meet with President Nausėda,” he stated.
“From Vilnius the president will travel to Finland. He wants to talk with President Stubb, whom he knows well. The two have spoken many times over the phone. He is an important ally and partner,” he summed up.
Talks of regional leaders at the Belweder Palace
Przydacz also spoke earlier about Thursday’s talks between Nawrocki and regional leaders.
“The president decided to invite regional leaders to Belweder today. This is the first such large event hosted by President Karol Nawrocki. This afternoon, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičš, Estonian President Alar Karis and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen will arrive in Warsaw,” said the presidential minister.
“This shows – the politician stressed – “how important the eastern dimension of the president’s foreign policy is, but also the northern one, in the Baltic Sea basin.” – The talks will last at least an hour and a half. In the second part – in a videoconference format – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will join the discussion,” he added.
“On Friday, President Nawrocki will hold telephone consultations with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, and on Saturday he will speak with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. – The two know each other very well. They held a personal meeting before the elections,” Przydacz recalled.
“The coming days will be filled with meetings and the development of a regional position. Nevertheless, President Nawrocki will fly to Washington primarily with Poland’s position,” he concluded.
