“No point in counting on the Polish government.” Śliwka: Whoever they had to insult in the U.S., they insulted

Tusk, Sikorski, Klich — these are the names MP Andrzej Śliwka (PiS) listed in the context of insulting allies in the United States. “There is no point in counting on the Polish government,” he emphasized.

President Karol Nawrocki will be meeting with U.S. leader Donald Trump. The visit to Washington, scheduled for September 3, will be Karol Nawrocki’s first foreign visit as President of Poland. Already at the preparation stage, a dispute arose between the government and the president’s office regarding the scope of authority in conducting foreign policy.

“We know very well that there is no point in counting on the Polish government, because both Donald Tusk and Radosław Sikorski, and the head of the mission Bogdan Klich — whoever they had to insult in the United States, they insulted,” said MP Andrzej Śliwka on Polish Radio 24.

First and foremost — security

Asked about President Karol Nawrocki’s visit to the U.S., Śliwka stressed that he deeply believes “topics related to Poland’s security will be raised.”

“This is especially important for me as a member of the National Defense Committee, dealing with this subject. I hope the issue of the presence of American troops in Poland will be discussed,” he said.

“It was President Trump who decided to increase the permanent presence of American troops on Polish soil. Later, the Law and Justice government held talks with President Biden, and this was raised to 10,000 troops in the Republic of Poland,” Śliwka recalled.
