“Nothing that is given shall be taken away”? Nawrocki Raises the Alarm: Tusk Has Targeted the Most Vulnerable Group

“Donald Tusk has targeted the most vulnerable group — Polish seniors. Last year, pensioners lost over 800 PLN, and they will suffer the same loss again in 2025 due to Tusk’s cuts to the 14th pension payment. Do you recall when pensions were raised by just a few zlotys? That cannot be allowed to happen again,” stated Karol Nawrocki, the civic presidential candidate endorsed by the Law and Justice Party (PiS).

“It was a lie.” Nawrocki Criticizes the Tusk Government

A new campaign spot has been published on Karol Nawrocki’s official social media profile. The video focuses on the issue of the so-called “14th pension” — an additional annual benefit for retirees — which has significantly decreased since the current governing coalition assumed power on December 13.

“Have you heard the phrase: ‘Nothing that is given shall be taken away’? It is now clear that this was a falsehood. What is most troubling is that Donald Tusk struck the most vulnerable group — Polish seniors. They lost more than 800 PLN last year and will face the same reduction in 2025 due to the cuts to the 14th pension under Tusk’s leadership. Do you remember those symbolic increases in pensions, sometimes by only a few zlotys? We cannot allow history to repeat itself. A dignified autumn of life also means not having to worry about making ends meet,”

the presidential candidate declared.

Nawrocki also extended a promise to the electorate:

“I pledge two very important changes for our retirees starting next year: pension indexation will always exceed the rate of inflation, and there will be a guaranteed minimum increase of 150 PLN per month. We owe our seniors respect and care. As president, I will be their steadfast guarantor,”

he affirmed.
