Today, on the day of Karol Nawrocki’s inauguration as President of the Republic of Poland, the head of government posted a controversial video on social media – a prelude to the election campaign ahead of the 2027 parliamentary elections.
Donald Tusk shared a video on social media today, in which he addressed – presumably – his electorate.
I am speaking to all Poles for whom this day is sad and disappointing. I know very well how you feel, I understand you. We all believed that honesty, goodness, and love would prevail. What has happened now puts our faith to a serious test, said the head of government.
You were hoping that ten years of embarrassment, sorrow, and fear for our homeland would finally come to an end today. Instead, new fears are added to the old ones. But what does this mean for us – people who long for an honest, free, and beautiful Poland, free from violence, hatred, and contempt? Only one thing – we must become even stronger, he added.
The video hints at the government’s stance toward the new president and serves as a prelude to the campaign for the 2027 parliamentary elections.
