“One big scam.” Leader of Law and Justice (PiS) speaks bluntly about the SAFE loan

This decision was made in defense of Poland’s independence and in defense of decency, because the entire SAFE mechanism is one big scam – said the leader of Law and Justice (PiS), Jarosław Kaczyński, referring to the president’s veto of the law concerning the SAFE loan.

Tusk: “The president’s veto will not stop us”

President Karol Nawrocki announced yesterday in a televised address that he had vetoed the law concerning the European Union’s SAFE loan. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Donald Tusk convened an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers, during which he declared that “the president’s veto will not stop” the December 13 coalition.

The statement by Tusk was addressed today by the leader of Law and Justice (PiS), Jarosław Kaczyński, in a conversation with journalists.

“First we must ask whether the action currently being taken, which is clearly contrary to the Constitution, will create any obligations on the Polish side at all. Would any bank allow itself to be deceived by such an abuse? I believe not – that there will simply be no guarantee that any decent Polish government will recognize it and be willing to pay, so it is a long way from resolving this matter in such a way,” he said.

He added that “it is very clear that German plans for domination – which, by the way, are currently evolving; we will talk about this in some time, but one cannot discuss too many issues at once – are meant to be implemented, and the current Polish prime minister is simply one of the executors.”

The leader of the largest opposition party also commented on the president’s veto of the SAFE law.

“This decision was a decision in defense of Poland’s independence and in defense of decency, because the entire SAFE mechanism is one big scam,” Kaczyński stated.
