Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated on Wednesday that Operation “Horizon” had begun. The decision is connected with recent acts of sabotage that took place on Polish territory.
“We are presenting Operation ‘Horizon,’ the support provided by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, based on specific articles regulating the functioning of the Police, actions aimed at security, the protection of critical infrastructure, joint patrolling, and the cooperation of all state services to counter sabotage and raise the level of safety for Polish citizens, as well as social integration and countering disinformation,”
the defence minister said.
Kosiniak-Kamysz indicated that up to ten thousand soldiers will be assigned to the operation. He noted that, together with Minister Kierwiński, he would request the initiation of the operation “from the Prime Minister, after which the Prime Minister’s request will be submitted to the President of the Republic.”
