The Razem Party announced that it has removed MP Paulina Matysiak from its list of members, stating in an official communiqué that she “has not cooperated with the party for a long time.” The statement also claimed that Matysiak’s actions no longer reflected Razem’s values. The MP — known for supporting large-scale investments aimed at Poland’s development — responded with her own message.
“The National Board of Razem decided unanimously today to remove Paulina Matysiak from the list of Razem members,”
the party wrote in a post on X on Thursday.
According to Razem, Matysiak had “for a long time” acted independently without coordinating with the party, and “numerous attempts to involve her in Razem’s work proved ineffective.”
The party also argued that Matysiak’s political activity did not align with Razem’s strategy of “building an alternative to the PO–PiS duopoly.”
“A year ago, a group of politicians tried to unilaterally align Razem with Tusk’s bloc. We did not allow that. Razem will not join either of the two political camps that are harmful to Poland,”
the statement said.
“We have cooperated for years, and we thank her for that. We remain open to joint work in the Sejm on matters such as transportation and other issues important for Poland’s development,”
the communiqué concluded.
MP Paulina Matysiak issued her own statement in response.
“In 2017, I joined Razem because I believed a different kind of politics was possible — that it was possible to build an inclusive, not closed-off, left in Poland. Today, in 2025, after being expelled from the party, I remain convinced that we need a left open to different viewpoints and social backgrounds, not one that is sectarian.
My work to combat transport exclusion, improve road safety, and support major development-oriented projects such as the Central Communication Port (CPK), as well as to defend workers’ rights, continues. In that respect, nothing changes.
I will carry on my work as an independent MP (they can’t expel me from Kutno).
Thank you for all the words of support coming from you — they mean a lot to me. Let’s stay in touch!” she wrote.
